9:15 – 9:45 AM - SMALL SESSION:  TRANSITION FROM THE FIELD TO THE INDUSTRY

  • Former UNC student athletes talk about their transitions from the field to working in the sports and entertainment field.  What lessons did they take from playing sports to working in the sports and entertainment industry?

9:50 – 10:30 AM - WORKSHOP SESSION #1 

  • Working in sports and entertainment runs the spectrum of opportunities.  Representatives from each sector will talk about their role in the sports and entertainment ecosystem, their path to get there, what they like about, and more.

    • Marquee Property – Shannon Hooper (VP Partnerships, 23XI Racing)

    • International Media – Stephanie Delgado, (Senior Director, International Media, PGA TOUR)

10:45 – 11:30 AM - SMALL SESSION: MEDIA PARTNERSHIPS

  • There has been a lot of conversation around what Disney and ESPN are planning in sports as they move forward.  

  • We will discuss key topics like:  How important are sports as part of Disney’s portfolio?  How to your work with emerging properties like NLL vs more traditional ones like NFL and NBA?  How has the transition to streaming continued to impact how you sell?  How do you sell across ESPN and other Disney properties?  What do brands look for in key partnership deals with your properties?  How do you position yourself differently as NLL to be attractive to brand advertisers?

  • It seems everyone wants a podcast, but only a few really resonate.  We discuss what makes successful content in this age across sports, entertainment, and culture.
